Maya Perez-Lugones was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia, in 2000. Before graduating from Georgia State University as an artist in 2024, she went to Utah State University, studying Biology pre-med in 2019. Currently, she attends the University of Arkansas, expecting to graduate with her MFA in painting in 2028. 
        Select exhibitions include a Solo exhibition, "Maya Perez-Lugones," at the  Marietta Cobb Museum of Art in Marietta, Georgia, in January 2026.  In addition to a juried exhibition, "OUCH!," at Manifest Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she was awarded the Grand Jury Award. In 2024, she was awarded the Nancy Goyer Endowed Scholarship and the Fogg Scholarship award from GSU in Atlanta, Georgia, for drawing and painting. 
        In her upcoming works, she manipulates video stills from exaggerated scenes of herself into paintings and drawings. The process using both digital and physical manipulation confronts her relationship with technology. The performative nature of the works ignites a conversation between personal and social image.
